This delightful range of narrow gauge prototypes was introduced by the Egger brothers of Munich, Germany in the early 1960's.

The firm was bought out by Jouef around 1968 and some of the models were incorporated into the later narrow gauge range featured in the three Playcraft catalogues at the end of the 1960's. Jouef continued to sell Egger-Bahn for a few years after the end of Playcraft as 'Voie Étroite' (narrow gauge) but for some unknown reason the range was not promoted and ceased to feature in the catalogues in 1972.

The original Egger-Bahn models are much sought after today.
