The Jouef catalogues for 1973/4 and 1975/6 included starter sets and various examples of ex-Playcraft wagons feature in them. It would seem that Jouef used these moulds to produce brightly coloured attractive wagons for children and kept the Playcraft markings. The wagons are typical primary series wagons, original style models but made in bright colours. They have only one metal coupling hook on each vehicle and the low sided wagons had the red tractors for loads. There were four clockwork sets in the 1973/4 Jouef catalogues; two with the 0-4-0 tank engine, one with a simple 4-wheeled version of the Bo-Bo SNCF 25 110 electric loco (a Jouef model) also a 4-wheeled version of the SNCF Bo-Bo 67000 class diesel (an original Playcraft model). In the 1976 Jouef catalogue the starter sets featured a yellow version of the BR 24 tonne mineral wagon. I understand that there was a bright green BR brake van too but this does not feature in these catalogues. |
